“I press toward the mark for the high calling of God, which is in Christ Jesus”

Philippians 3:14

Reverend Dr. Rudolph White began his ministry at New Bethany Baptist Church in Washington, D. C. in August, 1967 and was ordained in January, 1970, under the leadership of his pastor, the Late Reverend John J. Koger. He pastured the Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, Virginia for eighteen (18) years.

As a native of Washington, D. C., Pastor White graduated from the Washington Baptist Seminary in June 1971 and continued his religious education at Virginia Union and Hampton Universities. On May 21, 1994, an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree was conferred upon him by the Eastern Theological Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. While serving as Pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Berryville, he organized and instructed various community associations.

Dr. White was called to pastor new Southern Rock Baptist Church in July, 1988, and was installed as Pastor in October 1988. As Pastor of New Southern Rock Baptist Church, Pastor White has strengthened the church's property assets, the beautification of the church and fiscal management of the church. Under his capable leadership, the church has expanded its programs and ministries: namely: Regular Bible Study (youth and adults), New Members orientation classes (youth and adults), The Heaven Bound Choir (an intermediate and young adult choir), The Angelic Mass Choir, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, After School Program, an Outreach Substance Abuse Ministry, both Men and Women Ministries, Single's Ministry, Pastor's Aid Ministry, Missionary Ministry, Scholarship Committee, Budget Committee, and a Marriage Institute. Dr. White's dedication to teach and preach God's Word has aided fourteen (14) members in accepting the call into the ministry, thereby leading Pastor White to establishing a Ministerial Staff. In addition to the fourteen (14), two (2) ministers already ordained have united with the Church under Pastor White as associate Ministers.

The dedicatorial service for the church's $1.4 million renovation was held on Sunday, May 23, 1999. The renovation has addressed itself to provide for various activities to take place and responded to a variety of human needs. This vision was made a spiritual and financial blessing to the church family through Pastor White's introduction of the Brick Project. He came with a vision and instructions from God to make for Him a Holy people and to establish ministries to aid the people of God.

He is an active and dedicated member of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, having once served on the Board of Trustees. He is active in the Wednesday Clergy, Hampton Ministers Conference, Eastern Region Convention, and the Church Association for Community Services just to name a few.
